NAVY BeIIino’s Four Scores Rout Cavaliers, 41–6 | His third touchdown came right after he committed a mi nor boo-boo by falling to his knees while fielding a punt on his 10. He got the Midddies out of that hole by touring right end, cutting back to the middle and just outracing and out feinting a couple of Virginia chasers all the way to the goal. 1t was only right that Bellino should get the fourth touch down, even though it came hard, because he had a lot to do with setting it up. Virginia actually used up 7 minutes and 20 seconds after the kickoff in moving to Navy’s 33 before stalling and finally giving the ball away. A Spooner pass of 20 yards to Jim Luper got the Middies across midfield, and Bellino took over with several good carries of from 2 to Is yards as Navy got a first down on the one. From there, Bellino did the work and finally went over on his fourth try. Halfback Vic Meyer set up Navy’s last two touchdowns. His punt return of 20 yards put the ball on Virginia’s l3, allowing Spooner to hit Mather with an 8-yard pass, and his 53-yard dash from scrimmage carried to Virginia’s 80, from where the Middies quickly moved 10 SEND Stewart across the last yaro.
