  After coming through with spine-chilling squeakers over the week end, the two top contenders for the unoficial ma tional football championship looked ahead today to rugged tests in the next three weeks. Top-ranked Iowa $50 held on Purdue, 21–⁠14, and Mississippi’s second.ranked Rebels eked out a disputed 10–⁠7 decision over Arkansas, but neither team is out Of the woods yet. Iowa has an unenviable task during the next three weeks. This week the Hawkeyes run into Kansas, which has been beaten only by Syracuse. Next week they must take on Min neSota’s unbeaten and united Gophers in a battle that may decide the Big Ten title. And after that comes Ohio State, a loser only to Purdue. Rebels Meet LSU The Rebels have a date with oft-beaten but rugged Louisiana State, which has yielded just “a points in five games.
