  FIu-Ridden Oklahoma Beats Iowa State, 4O-l4 NORMAN. Okla. oct. 5 N9. “A wobbly Oklahoma football team. obviously on stride after u bout with the fiu. caught a stubborn Iowa State eleven today. And It wasn’t until the late stages Of the Big Eight conference contest that the Sooners were able to finally pull away with q 4O-l4 victory. Oklahoma, the Nations No. ! team. won its AID straight game but it was the Sooners’ second team that showed the spark which marked the previ- Gus triumphs. The alternates made two late touchdowns. For the rejuvenated Iowa State team under New Coach Jim Myers. the game was q moral victory II nothing else. Il was the first time since 1851 that Q Cyclone team was able to score against the Sooners.
