He and Bronson ate up the yardage in a 61-yard drive CHI NAKED when Majors rared back and whipped a chest-high pass to Bill Anderson for the final 13 yards. Smithers added the point. Maryland was in trouble again as Bob Layman fell victim to Tennessee’s charging line on a punt and couldn’t get it away. Tennessee recovered on the Maryland 10 but failed to score when Carter tried a rather alb surd pass from the one, a flip that Layman easily intercepted. A 43-yard pass from Fritsch to AL Beardsley. who faxed nicely and made a fine catch, helped the Terps to the Vols is, where Fritschis pass was batted to Urbano for the 84-yard touchdown rum.
