  7 Sophomores Lead Iowa Attack in 26–⁠0 Victory Over Purdue LAFAYETTE, Ind, Nov. T. Sophomores Roger Wiegmann and Ed Vincent of the Iowa HaWkeyes cut up Purdue’s defense with long runs and Iowa smashed the Boilermakers today, $50, in Big Ten game that had been expected to be close. Quarterback Lou Matykiewicz scored two Iowa touchdowns within So seconds at the start of the final period as the Purdue defense fell apart. The 205-pound Wiegmann set up Iowa’s first touchdown with a 27-yard run through the line in the second quarter. Lyle Leinbaugh raced the last 10 yards to score. Vincent flashed SIS yards down the side-line in the third quarter to Purdue’s 5 and George DUSTY Rice scored on the next play. MatykieWicz then made his quick pair of touchdowns in the final quarter. Floundering Purdue provided the opportunities. Matykiewicz plunged 2 yards after Teammate George Kress recovered a Purdue tumble. He ran Is yards for the second after Rice intercepted Purdue pass.
