crinnell s, Drake 0. Des Moines, Nov. 29.-Grinnell won the victory over Drake on Thanksgiving day afternoon in one of the most fiercely fought cleanest and best foot ball games the city has ever seen. The score was: Grinnell 5 to for Drake. There was nothing sensational about the game, no big long runs to make the crowd spring to its feet, or anything OF that sort, but it was good hard, straight foot ball of the cleverest sort. Grinnell won by superior judgment, and by using O cool head. Drake last by losing her head and by getting ratified on punts and being unable to catch and returns the kicks. 1t was the largest crowd that ever turned out to see a foot ball game in this city, and when the referee blew his whistle for the call of the game there were over $500 on the grounds. Seats were provided on three sides of the field. from one end to the other, and with the waving flags and banners the sight was pretty one. When the game started Grinnell kicked off to Drake, and the latter I’M mediately began a series OF line plunges with good results Grinnell took a brace near the center Of the field, how ever, and securing possession of the ball kept it in brakes territory most of the time for the next fifteen minutes. Drake would stand and hold and secure the ball. when Grinnell would come within twenty or twenty-five yards Of her goal. but the gain of Drake would be more than made up by a punt. Back and forth they struggled turnout the whole OF the first half without score being made, but with Grinnell getting q trifie the best OF things, The one score OF the game was made
