ON THE GRIpIRoN. Talk Heard On the Side Lines After the Game. members of Harvafd’S football eleven will be available for the team next year. They are Bowditch, right end; Marshall, quarterback; Graydon. futl- back, and Herman, left halfbaek. Cap tain Campbell, Blagden, Sargent, Greene. Barnard and Risti1le are n the senior class, and Lee and Cuts will be ineligible under the fourIyear rule. The four men who remain; how ever. constitute the main strength of the attack, and Herman is strong punter, so that the outlook is not dis courag ging The entire line, with the exception of right end, will have to be formed anew. The election of next years captain probably will be held within q few days. The choice at present lies between Bowditch ana Herman. with the chances in, favor of the latter player. New Haven. Nov 25.-The Yale ‘var sity squad returned from Boston last evening with the exception of Captain Gould and De Saulles. Captain Goull will visit friends in Boston for q few days and take rest at. the same time after Saturdays hard game. De Saulles, who was knocked out in :he game and had to be removed to hos pital will be in New Haven to-day. He was not seriously injured. as was thought at the time. In the Princeton game he got badly banged up and all last week had trouble with lis stonl- ach. He was suffering from this ac- count when he went into the Harvard game, and the hard usage he met with in the contest did not improve his con- dition. Head Coach Stillman said last night that all the men were in good trim. only a little tired. The election of a captain of next years team will be deferred for week at least There are two names mentioned. Chadwick and G0ss. The report that the men were put through too hard practice last week by the coaches. contrary to the advice of Mike Murphy. was pro- nounced absolutely untrue by Stillman. He said Trainer Murphy was consult ed every day about the condition of. the men and that he approved of what was done. Not since Harvard and Yale re- sumed elations in 1897 has either of them won a game by close score. Either there was no scoring at aH or the score was one-Sided. In 1897 the result was to O. in 1898 it was r to 0 in favor of Harvard in 1899 0 to 9 again; ill 1900 2S to 0 in favor of Yale. and now p to 0 in favor of Harvard. The palm goes to Harvard for the most victories, but there may be consola- ton for Yale in the 2S to score of last year, which exceeds anything liar yard has done. Harvard this year. as was Yale last year, is in a class by herself. and Yale will have to be con tent with second place in ranking. Fifty points in two successive Har- yard Yale games is remarkable, great ly different from the games of ten years ago, when the scores were 12 to 6 and 6 to o. Incidental te Haryard’s last two victories over Yale is an in- teresting fact that the IT to q game was won with Dibb1ee, q California man, as captain, and this years game won with Reid. a California man.. as head coach. 1t may also be worth comment that the Harvard team last Saturday was the more mature of tic two. Three of the Crimson eleven are 2S years old, while the oldest SYalens- ian is 24. FOOTBALL GAMES SATURDAY. At Cambridge, Mass Harvard %, Yale O. At Ithaca-Cornell 67. Vermont 0.
