Boston University was the only one of Maryland’s future football opponents to lose last Saturday and with four of their remaining six opponents still unbeaten the Terrapins should be headed for their best year at the box Office, That is not counting last seasons Sugar Bowl receipts. The unexpected collapse of Boston u, partially due to the in effectiveness of Harry Agganis, is the only blight on the remainder of Maryland’s schedule, from a prestige point. However, the Boston U. game repeatedly is a $4,000 sellout at Fenway Park, provided the Terps sell their allotment OF tickets for the students football week end” away from home. To date. Maryland has played before a disappointing crowd of Is, 900 at Missouri, $1,000 at Auburn and $4,000 at College Park last Saturday against Clemson. Despite the competition of the Tulane-Georgia Tech game Saturday afternoon in Atlanta-70 miles from Acknowledgment and Georgia figure to draw at least 40, 900. Sanford Stadium in Athens holds $4,000 and the game may be sellout. Navy Almost a Sell0ut. The next Saturday the Terra pins come home to play Navy and this game may be a sellout by the week end. Certainly it will be a day or two later if Maryland and Navy both win Saturday. Tenn porary stands will boost the Byrd Stadium capacity to $4,000 for Navy. Louisiana State visits on Mary lands homecoming on October Is and with reasonable luck for both teams the next two weeks, the Terps and Tigers should be good for at least $4,000. After Boston U. comes Mississippi and Alabama in Oxford and Mobile. It’s too early to tell much about ticket sales for those two games. Respective stadium capacities are IS, 900 and $4,000. A glance at Maryland’s nine opponents. in the order played: MISSOURI-Lost, 1870 to Mary land and 28–14 to California before beating Kansas State, 26–0 The Missourians trailed Cali fornia only 14–7 after three quartiers at Berkeley, but were quoted after the game as saying the Golden Bears were a faster and better team than Maryland. Last Saturday they handed Kansas State, coached by ex-Terp Assist ant Bill Meek, an Unexpectedly severe trouncing. AUBURN-Lost 1877 to Mary land and 20–7 to Mississippi. Over scheduled with Maryland, Ole Miss and Georgia. Tech as three of their first four opponents. Apparently pretty good team, but may never recover from this testing start. | CLEMSON-Rolled over little Presbyterian. 1913, before losing 14–7 in a close and even game with Villanova, and $50 to Maryland. The Tigers were unimpressive last Saturday, partially due to their crippled condition. May be Frank Towards poorest season in 10 years. Bulldogs Better This Year. GEORGIA-After a SIS season in 1851 the Bulldogs have q perfleet record with 1877 triumph over Vanderbilt, 21–16 over Tulane and 49–0 over a sub opponent, North Carolina State.
