Vanderbilt Tops LSU On Bill Wade Passes BATON ROUGE, La. Nov. 10 Bullet Bill Wade, Vanderbilt’s ace passer. threw for three touch downs here tonight to give Vandy a 20–13 Southeast Conference football victory over Louisiana State University before $4,000 fans. Wade’s confident ball handling completely befuddled the hitherto stout defense. Wade tipped a 58-yard touch down pass on Vandy’s second play from scrimmage. Dick Foster took 1t off LSU’s defending Jim Roshto’s fingertips, bowled over an official and streaked across to set the pace in the first half. The second half was scoreless. Cool, calm and collecting big hunks of yardage on nearly every throw, Wade was in complete control. In the first half, for instance, he completed eight of II passes and had one intercepted. He had plenty of pass protection-a ring Of Commodores bat ting down LSU’s charging line but he was not connecting too we’ll in the second half. A couple squirted out Of the hands Of receivers and LSU’s de. tense was tighter.
