Oregon State Hands Favored Washington, Fourth Defeat, N-t4 SEATTLE, Nov. 3. - The burly Oregon State Beavers put the favored Washington Huskies through their touchdown grinder today and wound up with 40 to IA Pacific Coast Conference foot ball victory. Shocking a crowd of 33,500 which had braved damp and chilly weather in hopes of watching a Washington resurgence. Oregon State cracked TT halftime dead lock wide open with two third period touchdowns and tackled on three more in the fourth. 1t was the biggest score an Oregon State team had ever turned in against Washington. It was the fourth defeat in a row for the Huskies, once regarded as contenders for the conference title. Fullback Sam Baker racked up three touchdowns for Oregon State. He carried the ball 27 times and gained 1874 yards on a field left sloppy by overnight rain. His understudy, Jack Pinion, scored twice and Sophomore Bill Anderson, who was expected to sit this one out because of an injury, tailed the other score. Washington got its two in the second and fourth quarters, Bill Farley tallying on a two-yard plunge and Bill Albrecht going over on a a8-yard pass play from Quarterback Sam Mitchell. Big Jim Cordial, operating out of left end on defense, broke up play after Washington play, recovering one Husky tumble, kicked three conversions and passed for Ia fourth. The great kicking of Dave Mann. Oregon States handy Andy, helped keep Washington in the hole.
