.LSU Upset, 13 10 7, By Mississippi State BATON ROUGE, La. Nov. 18- Mississippi State stormed to 13- 7 upset victory over Louisiana State tonight in a bone-jarring Southeastern Conference football game before $4,000 fans. Mississippi State, inspired by a l27-pound quarterback and a 169pound halfback, had bulky line which the favored LSU Bengals could not cope with. The little quarterback, Frank Branch, engineered one touchdown and passed to the other, one in the third period and the other in the final. LSU’s comeback touch down came in the fourth quarter. Wally Beach. fleet Maroon half back, scooted through holes in the the LSU line for lusty gains. Branch hit Steve Clark for a 27yard touchdown pass for Mississippi States first tally. Beach went over from the one-yard line for the other. Halfback Kenny Konz and 15yard penalty, one of many in the game, set up the LSU touchdown.
