Sons of Nassau Ends a DisaS- trOus Season , THE SCORE WAS 29 ID 5. Never Before Has the Orange and Black Been, So HumiIiated- fale’s Line Was Simply – Invincible to Attacks Princeton, N J., November H-Prince- ton wound up the most disastrous football season in the history of the university this afternoon, losing her annual game to Yale by a score of 29 to 5. Never has an orange and black eleven been so humiliated. Yale has rolled up larger scores, but never has she shown her superior strength in such a marked degree as she did this afternoon. There was only one department of the game in which Princeton excelled. That was in the kicking. Matis, the Princeton fullback, easily outpointed Yale. To show Princeton’s utter weakness it is but neces- sary to say that during the 70 minutes CT play the orange and black made only two first downs, and those were within 1O mln- utes of the close of the game when Princeton took a temporary brace. The Tigers linemen were beaten back, battered down and trampled upon in n manner that must have made the hearts or the loyal sons of old Nassau bleed with sympathy Both teams fought desperately, but the superior strength of Yale and her better physical condition enabled her to score a comparatively easy victory. But with all the distressing circumstances connected with the Princeton Waterloo the under graduates in the cheering section never faltered. With cheer and song they urged their eleven, even when all hope of vie tory must have been abandoned by Cap tain PelI When the timelIeeper’s whistle blew announcing the cessation of hostili- ties the boys in the cheering section stood up with barred heads and sang “Old Nas- sau.” ia There were not more than 13,00O persons at the game. Many seats in the south stand were unoccuped when play began There was a tiresome wait for the ap- pearance of the rival combatants. Yale S. football suits had been sidetracked at Princeton function and the blue lads were waiting to complete their toilettes. During the interim the rooters in the rival sec tions exchanged complimentary cheers It was 2:35 before the two elevens came on the field, and ten minutes later the lrouble began.
