  New York, Oct. 2 N- Northwestern stepped boldly to the center of the national col legiate football stage today with a 81 to 0 conquest of Purdue. The Evanston, ILL.,, Wildcats, winners by 10 to 0 score over UCLA week ago, battered the team that outgained Notre Dame last Saturday only to lose by a point. Northwestern’s victory was the highlight of the second Saturday of football, a Saturday that also saw Harvard open a new coaching regime by spill ing Columbia, 80 to “a; North Carolina have to come from behind to beat Georgia, 81 to IA; four major Southern games end in ties and two Coast elevens conquered in the middlewest.
