MuSh DubOtSky’S scout report OH villanova, to be met by Georgetown Friday night in Philadelphia, made Hoya Coach Jack Hagerty wonder why the Wildcats accepted the Great Lakes Bowl bid against Kentucky II the Cats are as good as Mush claims, they belong at least IN the Rose Bowl. Are they as good as Boston Col lege?” Hagerty asked, and Mush almost jumped down his boss throat “As good” whispered Mush, In a tone that was picked up on the Fordham seismograph, there’s moo o-o-o-o comparison. (Actuany there is a comparison as B. c. defeated Villanova. 6–0O LAS good as Wake Forest?” Hagerty meekly asked. Much better than Wake Forest” Mush replied “bigger, faster, smarter, stronger better runners, better passers, more reserves” In view of the fact that George town lost to both Boston College and Wake Forest, coach VINO didn’t know Mush would have been on the verge of cancel;ng the game, but Dubofsky and Hagerty are bud dies of long standing. Hagerty knows that Mush has tendency to exaggerate ever so slightly. Cats Don’t Pass Much. Taking Dubofskys scout reports on paper, and without his boyish enthusiasm, Hagerty learned that Villanova has a pretty good college ball club. The Cats don’t do much passing as they have powerful running attack and apparently lack a good passer or they would mix their attack. They were not extended in defeating Marquette, 25–7 last week. . Whereas they are rated strong on pass detense, Dubofsky said they allowed numerous opportunities for compile tions last week but Marquette was missing because of its own ineptness not because VillanoVa was covering the receivers or rushing the passer Idle last week end, the Hoyas concentrated all week on improving their blocking. Georgetown has beer freely criticized for poor blocking and Hagerty, Dubofsky and George Murtagh have been attempting tt do something about 1t. The Hoys runners frequently have run into their own blockers or have beer brought down because of a lack o. advance men. Hagerty announced that 5-foot-s Babe Baranowski, the little fellow who suffers every minute he’s on thu bench, will start at QUARTERBACK against the Wildcats. BaranoWsk favored a recently fractured collal bone in the Boston College gam’ November l. but he has been pass ing in practice without hint as tt the injury. In the few minutes HI played against the Eagles, the Bab’ stood out as the Hoyas outstanding ball player of the day. Werder Back at Work. Bus Werder, Dubofsky’s candidate as the greatest lineman of the season returned to practice yesterday anc will start at left guard against The Wildcats. Tommy Graham, tht Hoyas’ spot runner, recovered from the slight conclusion suffered II the B. c. game and also will be available for full duty. Hagerty spent considerable tint last week looking over the Hoyas touted freshman talent. He was
