FOOL BALL, Many Interesting Contests Saturday, with Some Surprises. Many Interesting Contests Saturday, With Some Surprises. Last Saturdays football games were not without their surprises. The day was in many respects repetition of the Saturdays that have preceded it. There were no sensations, but great DIAL of football history was made. Yale beat the Indian boys 30 to 0. 1t was a significant victory, Tor the simple reason that Yale prepared as hard before the game as If it had been a contest with Princeton or Harvard. Yale has not been known, prior to the game with the Indians, to 60 into secret practice for a contest with minor eleven. That the preliminary work was effective was shown by the far better interference of the players, the more effective work Of the backs and the improv ement in the running Of the ends. Yale stock in the coming games with the “Big -Four” will go up 80 PER cent as result Of Saturdays contest. Brown held Harvard down to II noints and scored touchdown in addition. The score was not wholly unexpected, as the Harvard men have shown slight tendency to be stale. La Fayette scored against Pennsylvania and Columbia heat the University of Buffalo with little trouble. Princeton freshmen an nexed little glory to their class by defeating Yale’s first year men. The principal games resulted as follows: Pennsylvania, 70; La Fayette, 5; at Philadelphia.
