Strong Georgia Tech lis Heavy Favorite |For Tulane Game NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 3.-A pail of teams which surprised the foot. ball world last week will try to be. fuddle each other here tomorrow when Georgia Techs Jackets plunge into the Tulane Green Wave. And II Tech doesn’t win handily it’ll be another astonishment. The Jackets have superior expert ence and condition on their side and apparently a better attack ano defense. II they have their train tickets and remember to bring their uniforms, it’s difficult to recall any. thing else they’ll need. The surprise element in Techs 27–0 victory over Tennessee was In its lopsidedness. Nobody had ever beaten a team coached by Bob Neyland so badly before. Tech had a 2-to-1 advantage in the statistics both in running and passing. Three touchdowns came on sustained drives. Tech looked great. The surprise in Tulane’s 21-to-20 oSASaV VA 1AtoodAhd WdS OIldO Gfle Wave won at all. Tulane could make nary touchdown drive, but scored on a kickoff return, long pass and intercepted pass. Yes, Tulane proved to be a resourceful, courageous, fast, interest ing and dangerous team-but not q great team. The Greenies took g statistical and physical pounding. Says Coach Bobby Dodd OF his Techmen: Il believe they’ll be Just as ready mentally as they were last Saturday. We know we’re in for q tough afternoon. They tell us thai Tulane line is light and inexperi. enced. But look what they did tt Alabama. If we can keep our phys. ical shape We’ll be happy” On the other hand, Coach Henr, Frnka will be very unhappy If his Greenies keep their physical shape The Alabamans didn’t break any Tulane bones, but they left many big, blue, knotty bruises. Half 8 dozen keymen haven’t put on uni forms since they squeezed groaningly out Of their gear last Saturday afternoon.
