HOLY CROSS, 6; COLBY, S. The Game Not Very Fast. Though the Score is Close. Worcester. Oct. 2l.-1ioly Cross defeated Colby in rather slow and uninteresting game, Saturday afternoon, on the Holy Cross field by a score of 6 to 5. Both sides showed weakness in their lines, and several opportunities for running up the score. Reid, Baldwin and Skelly of Holy Cross and Dudley and Rice of Colby, made a splendid showing. and several OF the Holy Cross substitutes did much better work than was expected. II Baldwin had been Kept In the game i’ll the second haf, Holy Cross would have run up larger score. Baldwin was in excellent condition, and the spectators could not understand why he was taken out. as he was uninjured. He is one of the best halfbacks Holy Cross has ever turned out. The team work of the home team was poor and there was considerable fumbiing on its part in the first half. Reid who played on the Nillanova eleven, last season, has developed into wonderful full back and a hrst-class punter. In the first half a Colby KICK was blocked by Baldwin. Rudy took the ball goal A dispute arose as to whether or not Baldwin had tackled Rice, and II was finally settled By Umpire Noonan in the negative. The ball had been IN play II In the second half Colby found ii an easy thing 10 make gains through the line. which was very weak; compared half. Umpire Delaney had the pigskin brought back to the Holy Cross 3g-yard lire and gave Colby ~ more yards for off-slde play BY steady gains colby got ihe ball TO ihe yard ms and on thc without any difficulty and scored 4 touchdown.
