Battling Virginia Tech Stages Three Rallies, Ties Virginia, 21–21 ROANOKE, Va, Oct. 5.-virginia Tech rallied three times before an estimated 10000 persons in victory Stadium today to tie favored Virginia, 21–21. The Gobblers deadlocked the slambang battle with nine minutes remaining in the final period when Ralph Beard, swept wide around left end to stumble the last three or four Yards to fall over the goal. The run was good for 13 yards and came on fourth down when Techs thrust looked hopeless. Virginia had gone ahead with less than four minutes remaining in the first quarter, climaxing a 50-yard sustained march with Substitute Fullback Ralph Shoaf ploughing over from one foot. That touchdown started a whale of a battle.
