Irish Helpless In First Loss Blanchard, Davis Score Five Times BY BOB CONsIDINE NEW YORK, Nov. 10-UNS)-- Army’s tremendous football forces, in power and speed, forcibly elected Notre Dame from the nations unbeaten grid ranks today by giving the Irish a pun ishing 48–0 beating. The appalling power of the Cadets stunned a mob of 1918 in the Yankee Stadium and produced West Points 18th consecutive victory during the two great est seasons of its football history. Today’s margin of vic tory raised 10 107 the number of points Army has scored against the Irish in the past two games-and this was the first time in the Cadet Irish rivalry which began in 1913 that Army has won twice in a row. Notre Dame, tied by Navy but otherwise unblemished. was help less today in the face Of furnishing early blows by Army’s incredible Glenn Davis and Doc Blanchard and the later clouts by Army subs good enough TO be stars on other teams.
