Crimson Tide Rolls Over Kentucky With Ease ATLANTA, Nov. 4.-P)-Alabama’s perennial bid for a post season Bowl invitation appeared today to have become a reality, especially in the light of yesterdays developments. Such developments included the Crimson Tides lopsided victory over Kentucky, 60–19, and Tulane defeat of hitherto unbeaten,, united Mississippi State, 14–13. The Ma rooms, against whom Alabama concludes its schedule on December l, has posed as a serious threat to a perfect year for Coach Frank Thomas eleven. The 1916 defeat hung on Georgia Tech in the mud can also be re. garded as having an effect on the Tides hopes since it virtually re. moved the Jackets from Bowl consideration. Elsewhere in the Southeastern conference, Auburn whipped Flor ida, 1870; Tennessee rallied with three touchdowns in the last period to beat North Carolina, 2O-6; Louisiana encountered little trouble in handling Mississippi, 1918; Georgia beat Chattanooga, 34–7, and Vanderbilt bowed to Virginia Military Institute, 1927. Harry Gilmer, the Tides can didate for. au-America honors, threw only two passes, both Of which connected. One of them was good for his tenth touchdown heave this year and he added two more scores on runs of SO and IS yards. Another Rose Bowl bid for Ala. bama, its sixth, would come as no surprise for most observers and complete the Bowl circuit with four teams in as many seasons. The 1871 eleven beat Texas A. & M. in the Cotton Bowl, the 1912 team whipped Boston college in the Or ange Bowl, and the 1914 team de. feated Duke in the Sugar Bowl. The Crimsons had no team in 1913.
