  Navy–Penn Game Tops Outstanding Slate |0f Grid Season The collegiate football frolics moves into the final half today with a flock of outstanding games that will have great bearing on Bow selections, conference titles and the mythical national championship. Heading the best program of the season to date is the Navy–Pennsylvania clash at Philadelphia. The big Penn Quakers, whose goal line has yet to be crossed, are ranked seventh nationally to Navy’s third and will furnish a true test as tc whether the Middies are all they’re cracked up to be. Army, the No. ! power, meets Duke at the Polo Grounds and the Cadets will be shooting for the 21–⁠0 “par’ set up by Navy’s victory over the Blue Devils. The Cadets, remembering the TO half-time lead the Blue Devils held over them last season, are taking no chances and will start the first team headed by the redoubtable Doc Blanchard ano speedy Glenn Davis. Big Games in Midwest. Out in the Midwest, three games share top billing. Ohio States Buckeyes, knocked over by Purdue last week, will be aiming to do the same to the, Minnesota Gophers in a Big Ten fracas. The unbeaten Tulsa Hurricanes of the Missouri Valley will cross into Big Ten lines to tangle with the equally undefeated, but once-tied Indiana Hoosiers. Purdue, off last weeks performance, is favored to make its perfect record 60 at North Westerns expense. Notre Dame, the No. 2 team ot the country, probably will clear tht bench against Iowa. A third Biz Ten game matches Illinois at Mich. igsn.
