Columbia Wins Spotty Game From Brown, 27–6 NEW YORK, Oct 27-lREPlaying their best football only in spots, the indicated Columbia Lions ran their victory string TO five games at Baker Field today by outscoring the Brown University eleven, ~ to 6. The $4,000 fans who shivered in the brisk breezes did not go away without a thrill, however, nor the Lions without a healthy scare which the final score did not reveal. The third quater was practlcally all Brown as the Rhode Is land team came up with a sur prising and rousing offensive which accounted for a touchdown and caused considerable COM motion on the Columbia bench as defensive men hastily were called into action. The Lions had scored a touch down in the first period and an other in the second and the Brown cause seemed hopeless until that third period splurge. 1t was Browns swan song, however, and the Lions came back to roll Tor two clinching touchdowns in the final quarter.
