  Dog Costs Indiana Score on Illinois CHAMPAIGN, H.. Oct. g. Indiana lost touchdown in todays Western Conference game with Illinois because of a big German boxer dogs interference, but won, go. Midway of the second period, with fourth down on the Illinois 15-yard line. the dog wandered onto the field, behind the Illinois defense, just as the play started. Referee Bill Blake blew the ball dead just before Melvin Groomes faded back and fired a pass to End Ted Kluszewski in the end zone. The play-and touchdown of course, were nullified. On the replay, Ben Raimondi tossed another pass to Kluszewski, but the latter was forced to step over the end zone to catch it, and Illinois took the ball on it’s own 20-yard line.
