Air Defense, Blocking Needed by Old Liners It’s safe bet that the Maryland football squad during its toll this week for its visit to Wake Forest Saturday, will get double doses of pass defense and blocking. Despite their manifold errors of every sort, the Old Liners might not have taken that stunning 12-to-0 wallop from Hampden-S Sidney in their opener last Friday night If their aerial defense hadn’t been full of holes or if they had given any blocking help to their own ball carriers. AS it was, the Tigers might easily have had two more scores, dropping passes with clear going ahead. Maryland needs to come out of the dofdrums before meeting the Deacons, who will be looking for revenge for a 1877 upset beating at College Park last year. In fact, unless the Old Liners show much greater power, the chances are they’ll take a drubbing from brilliant Wake Forest team that has licked North Carolina, TO, and Georgia, 14–7.
