BALTIMORE, Md, Oct. 13.-The Maryland lookout up in the Baltimore Stadium’s crows nest Saturday piled up a telephone bill, but the Old Liners didn’t mind paying the toll charges after seeing the pleasant results-a 27–13 victory over Rutgers. Just to explain-and it wouldn t be revealing any trade secrets, because lots of football teams do the same thing: The lookout was Jack Manders, aide to Coach Clark Shaughnessy, who studied the Liners dismal first half showing when Rutgers led, TO, and kept the telephone from the press box to the player bench very busy. The Liners would tumble or let a Rutgers back break away for good gain, Shaughnessy would grab his hair in one hand and the bench telephone with the other. Just before the end of the first half Maryland started looking a lit tie better, but the rest period came before the Liners could do any good for themselves. Manders made a dash for the Maryland dressing room, but another Liner aide gave the tip-of.
