STANFORD ROLLED OVER NEBRASKA In. ROSE BOWL BATTLE coRNHUsKERs DESPERATELY TRIED TO MAKE FIRST AP- PEAHANcE IN posT-sEAsoN 3 GAME SUCCESSFUL PASADENA, Calf, Jan. a. Favored Stanford Indians rolled over Nebraska’s Cornhuskers, 81 to 13, in the Rose Bowl gridiron battle here yesterday afternoon. Coach Clark Shaughnessy, who has guided the Indians back to football glory, watched his boys faithfully carry out his strategy against the Cornhuskers. Nebraska set the Indians back on their feet in the very first two minutes of play by blasting its way down the field for an amazingly fast touchdown. That put them ahead but Stanford soon tied it up. In the second period, the Cornhuskers shot ahead again, 1877. From then on it was all Stanford. Big Chief Norm StanQlee was outstanding for the victors. Nebraska gamely tried to make its first appearance in bowl game successful one. The victory was the tenth in a row for the Indians. 1t spoke well of Shaughnessy’s coaching. Last year, Stanford made a miscradle showing, but the past season snapped back into their win ming ways, mostly by use of famous T formaton. Shaughnessy, who came to Stan ford from ever-losing Chicago University, began his new job only last fall.
