Southwest Team To Be Picked By Geographic Vote Difficulties DALLAS, Nov. 30-R-Powerful Fordham university, beaten once in a shocking upset earlier in the season, accepted an invitation tonight to play a New Years day football game in the Cotton Bowl against a Southwest conference representative still to be selected. President Dan D. Rogers of the Cotton Bowl Athletic association reported shortly after Fordham’s I26–0 rout of New York university that the Rams had agreed to the game. The Southwest team will be Sc lected by a Geographic vote of the faculty members of the Southwest conference next Monday. Only Texas A. and NJ, Rice institute and Southern Methodist are eligi- BILE. 1t was believed fairly certain that. the Aggies, mighty rulers of the Southwest for two seasons and victims of a terrific upset from Texas university, 10, only two days ago, would be the choice. However, both Southern Methodist and Rice still are in the conference running. They meet next Saturday at Houston. AS it now stands, the Aggies are assured at least a tie for the conference crown. The winner of the SMU-Rice game would share the title with them. A Rice-SMU stand off would give the Aggies undisputed possession-frst time in his tory that a conference team would have won the flag two years run ming.
