  PENNsY WINS EASILY. The University of Virginia Defeated On Franklin Field PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 11.--Pennsylvania defeated the University Of Virginia on Franklin Field in short halfs this after noon by a score of 33 to 6. The first half lasted twenty minutes and the second sew enteen and one-half minutes. In the first half Pennsylvania ran up II points, while the score of the second was % TO G, in Penn sylvania’s favor. AS in several games this year. Pennsylvania s play was better in the second half than in the first. Virginia scored just at the close of play, owing to the greenness of the new end rush. Fresh man Gardner. who was getting his first trial on the varsity lie had been playing a cracking game up TO this point. The ball was Virginia S 65 yards from Pennsylvania goal and down close 10 the side line. Gardiner thought no runner could pass without going out of bounds, so he moved over TO the other end of the line. j.
