Georgia Tech 1opp|e! Georgia, 1870, in Bitter Clash Twice Checks Bulldogs Near Goal to Tie for Southeast luureIs ATLANTA, Ga, Dec. I’m a bruising combat that ran true to the form of this ancient gridiron rivalry, Georgia Techs Engineers rallied enough power in two often sive thrusts today to defeat Georgia’s Bulldogs 13 to 0, before a homecoming crowd of 10000. The victory gave the Engineers clean sweep of their six games in Southeastern Conference COM petition and a just claim to share of the 1899 championship of this Dixie league. In driving 60 and 40 yards for its two touchdowns and throwing up defense that halted two Georgia thrusts inside the 20-yard line in the first period, Georgia Tech overcame a “jinx” that had trailed the Engineers for the last three years which saw Georgia rise up from an underdog role to win once and tie twice. After recovering a tumble at Georgia’s 40 near the end of the opening period, Georgia Tech marched to a score, Johnny Bosch, the soph speedster, leaving his interference and running of the weak side 9 yards for the touchdown. A short while later, Bosch was hurt and carried off the field on a stretcher. He suffered at least one and pos sibly three broken ribs. Midway the third quarter, Tech marched from Georgia’s 40 down to the Bulldog 9. After Fullback Howard Ector plunged for 2, Bobby Beers tried pass and it was in tercepted by Georgia’s Capt. Vassa Cate on the goal line and run out yards. Sophomore Cliff Kimsey punted out to the Bulldog 40 and Tech came right back to score its second touchdown. | Goree Clinches Victory.
