Atchison stand up and shout over the teams prospects with that setup, and Mr.. Reinhart wisely refrained from predieting an undefeated record. We’ll win some games and try to play some football” he said, land we’re pointing for Georgetown” That was the game the downtown gridders were after-the battle with the Hoyas, and when their coach said they were pointing for it he wasn’t exercising his constitutional right OF free speech merely. Jack Hagerty of Georgetown told us he never had seen team so worked up over a game as we’re the Colonials and Jack was willing to settle for touchdown that afternoon. Losing to their neighboring rival should have taken a lot of starch out of the Colonials, but they were back a week later almost upsetting one of the Souths best teams, Clemson, in neck-and-neck battle. And even after bowing to the Tigers their courage was unf1agging and they journeyed afar to knock off Kansas and get back in winning stride. A 7–6 victory over Bucknell last Saturday clinched a good season for George Washington, and made Reinhart’s preseason statement ring true. The boys have won some games four at this writing-and should bow out of the picture with another If they continue at their present pace. They played only one bad game, that against The Citadel, and it was good time to rid their systenn of a lot of poor football, for they won the decision The Colonials have played heads-up football all the way through, although their attack functioned fitfully at times. Not until the Kansas game did Tom Grady strike his stride, for example, and the burden OF trying to tote the whole offensive load against overpowering opposition has been heavy on Eddie Wilamoski and Walt Fedora. Frank August, an end whose excellent work has been overshadowed by Nowaskeys pres ence at the opposite flank, Duce Keahey and Stan ziobro did yeoman work IN the line. They showed the benefit Of Koch’s coaching, for in no game were the Colonial forwards outplayed this season. Yes, 1t has been a good year for the Buff and Blue, and to men responsible for it, as well as squad that proved it had heart as well as ability, the Colonial supporters owe three big Yea, team” C’mon, make it loud, fellows.
