  Washington Upset Win TOPS Grid Results NEW YORK, Nov. “a. tUP) = Washington upset Oregon in the most important football game OF the first half of the nations double Thanksgiving holiday A so yard drive before 10000 in the last period gave the team from Seattle a 20-l3 Pacific coast conference victory to highlight day which would have offered other topnotch games but for the late change in date which forced revision of schedules. In two other outstanding games Virginia Military Academy swept past Virginia Tech, 1877. for the first time in 10 years, and Syracuse downed Maryland, 1917, field goal by Dan Murphy in the first quarter providing the winning margin. Other tter-than-average contests saw Utah rout Utah State, 27–⁠0 TO keep in the running for at least tie in the Big Seven conference championship; William and Mary upset the undefeated Richmond Spiders, 10, their touchdown COM ing after a march of 80 yards in the third period; and Denver swamped Idaho, $50.
