CORNELL’S SNAPPY GAME Ithacans Score Against the Colgate Team at Will. Richf1eld Springs, N. Y, Sept. 23.- Cornell today won its first game of foot ball this season from Colgate univer- sity eleven, running up a score of AZ to 0. Colgate was no match for the Itha- cans, being outclassed in weight and science. Cornell played a snappy game, though at times the ball was put into play slowly. Capt. Starbuck, fullback, and Wal bridge and Morrison, halfbacks, found 1t an easy matter to advance the ball through the line and around the ends. The first touchdown was made in less than three minutes. Cornell handled punts well and Capt. Starbuck made a good showing in kicking work. Colgate’s line was unable to hold Cor nelPs forward rush. The new guards, Warner and Caldwell, showed up in a satisfactory form, though the real strength of Cornelrs team was not tested. The features of the game were the 50-yard run for a touchdown by Walbridge and the work of Morrison and of Starbuck in line bucking. Cor nelrs ends were also fast. The lineup: CORNELL COLGATE.
