WEST POINT, N. Y, Oct. s.-Columbia’s fighting football forces rocked on their heels by Army’s superior drive and manpower in the first half. came roaring back with a second-haf surge that put over two touchdowns. added the valuable extra points and thus earned the Lions well-deserved 20–18 victory over the Cadets before crowd Of $4,000 in Niche Stadium. The Lions triumph, their second in two major games. was the result Of teamwork and well-destributed at tack rather than an individual victory for Sid Luckman, who was the whole show last week against Yale. Luckman was in there again today, pitching nine completed passes for gain of 1l5 yards. But he had to share the honors with Art Radvilas, a power runner Army found as hard to stop as a bronco; Gerry seidel. who picked up valuable yardage through the burly Cadet line and bucked over for two OF the winners scores: Johnny siegal, pass-catchins end with glue on his fingers. and small but potent crew OF linemen. Woodrow Wilson. on 49-yard sprint around Columbia’s left end, scored the Cadets first touchdown within four minutes OF the start Columbia had the ball briefly on the following kickoff. was forced to punt and Army rolled again. This time the Cadets covered 81 yards in eight plays for first down on the Lion IA, lost the ball on downs as passing attack failed, then regained possession on the 10 as Co. lumbia fumbled on its first play. Wilson was called on again and the Army halfback, on virtually the same play he’d scored on before. crossed the Columbia goal-line standing up to make the score 1910. Even when short Luckman-Seidel pass climaxed a concerted 65-yard drive and gave Columbia its first score on the second play of the second quarter, the fact that Art Frontczak had missed both of Army’s tries for the extra point didn’t seem important. It seemed even less so when Army bounced back from the Columbia score for a 6S-yard touchdown march that made it 1876 at the half. But Radvilas, Luckman and COM pany weren’t as discouraged as their supporters in the stands. Radvilas
