  GATHERING IOWA CRUSHES TEMPLE Scores $50 Upset in Game Marked by Rough, Tough Foot Ball Play. ~ HILADELPHIA, November 21- - In as bruising and battering a battle as even the hardest foot L ball fan could ask, Iowa’s Hawkeyes sprang major surprise on an Eastern power today by walloping Temples Owls, rs to o. Twenty-Five thousand fans turned out for the game despite a cold wind, and in addition to the regulation grid iron fare, they were treated to an as sortment Of rough, tough tactics on both sides. that brought 90 yards in penalties, rs Of them to Iowa, and resuited in nine men being carried off the field, six of them from the Iowa lineup. The play Of Homer Harris, a rugged Iowa end, on the defense. and the offensive brilliance Of the hashy Oze Simmons and his halfback running mate, Bush Lamb, were the outstanding factors Of the victory. Lamb turned out to be a wolf under another name so far as the Owls were concerned, as he ratified of gain after gain, scored two OF his teams four touchdowns, and generally led the Hawkeyes throughout the game.
