Nov. 29.- R-The Texas AggieS, their game OF the year recorded ia the win column, saw bright prospects Fri day for a powerful football team next season. Only “a OF the players who started for the Agg1eS in Thurs days battle with the Texas Long horns. which ended in a 20 to 6 victory for A. a. NJ, was a senior. The win wRs the Aggie’s first over the LOnghorns In four years and the only significance 1t had IN the Southwest conference was 10 decide who would hold the cellar position. Texas has beaten A. e. M. only once on Kyle field In the annual Thanksgiving classic between the teams. That tradition was kept intact. The victory was the first major one for the Aggies this year. The loss ended n OF the most dismal seasons for the Longho-ns in recent years. They won one Of SIX conference battles. The Longhorns. aided BY a strong wind that figured in all the scoring in the game, started with a flashy offensive. They put across their only counter on a 38-yard run by Buster Jurecka In the first few minutes Of play. Then the Aggies took charge. Jimmy Shockey. sophomore south paw back, led the offensive that the Longhorns failed TO stop. Shockey’s passes, mainly TO Fred Wright, also a sophomore, account ed for one touchdown and led TO the other two. Jurecka broke loose for his touch down run for Texas after the Aggies reserved the opening kickoff and punted poorly into the wind. A kick against the gale which went to the Texas 80 put the Aggies in position for their first score in the second quarter. wilkins gaLop-
