  Saturdays Foot Ball Games. Last Saturday the football team of the University of Minnesota received hard blow at the hands of the Wisconsin boys. For considerable time the teams Of the two Universities have been prepairing for the annual game. Hard work has been done on both sides, but lately considerable doubt has been entertained by many regard ing the outcome of the game as the Badgers until Saturday had played only High school teams. However the Wisconsin boys proved them selves superior to Gophers and as result of their effective work the game ended 80 to DIN Wisconsin’s favor. In the forenoon of the same day the Madison High school defeated the South Side High school of Minneapolis. Score. IA to Q. Last Saturday the High school football team of this town left for New Richmond where they were billed for game with the High school boys. They left town in hioh spirits little thinking that New Richmond would outclass them as they did. The visitors were defeated by IA score of39 to 0. The chief character, ties of the game were Epley’s drop kick from near the center of the field, the good lnterfer ence of the New Richmond boys and the ragged playing of the River Falls boys. IF misery loves company, all the boys need do is to think of Minnesota’s defeat on the same day.
