WASHINGTON U IS VICTO R|0US OVER STANFORD Eleven Huskies Play Through Game to Win by Score of 6 to 0 SEATTLE, Oct. 30.-Thirteen thousand rain-soaked fans saw eleven Washington Huskies play straight through 60 minutes of football last Saturday afternoon to defeat Stanford 6 to 0. Rated a bad second before the game, Jimmy Phelan pulled a dou- ble surprise by keeping his orig inal lineup in the game through out. directing his stellar end, Bill Smith on which he pinned hopes of a victory on his kicking foot. Bill came through with two field goals in the first and second per- iods for the only scores of the contest. Stanford never threatened to score and reached the Washing ton territory only once although the southerners put up a brilliant defensive battle.
