II will be hard to convince loyal followers of the Red and Blue that the game should not at least have ended in tie, however, as Penn first was awarded a touchdown and then had 1t taken away from them In the third Pc riod when John Psnnypacker grabbed dead ball and ran At yards across the Green goal. The officials first ruled that Penn had scored and the ball was placed on Dartmouth’s 2-yard line for the try for point, but they then decided that the bali was dead when Wilbur Powers, Green back, touched Bill Shanahan’S crafty bounding punt near midfield and gave it to Penn on the 27-yard line. where they said Pennypacker haG recovered” it. The decision, which appeared to be wrong at least as to the point of “recovery,” brought a gust of boos from members of the crowd which were renewed when Penn lost the ball few minutes later and with it what turned out to be its last chance to score.
