  BOSTON ATHLETES FAIL To WIN. Athletic Club That Has n big Recor, BeStcd by Chicago Team. BeStcd by n Chicago Team. The proud colors of the Boston Athletic association went down In the mud yesterday before the cherry and black of the Chicago Athletic association. the west=rners wining by q score of 12 to 6. The team that had beaten Harvard and almost every other important east ern club with the exception of Yale. was defeated. despite the fact that the Chicago club had expelled six of its star members. Chicago won the toss and the game opened with magnificent work on both sides. but Chicago scored touchdown within a few minutes. and failed 10 kick goal. Bullard. of Boston. soon made n magnificent forty yard run, and nearly scored. but the ball was pushed back. and within ten minutes Chicago scored a second touch down. again failing to kick goal. The half ended with Chicago ard Boston nothing Rain became worse In the second half and the footing was frightful. Chicago scored third touchdown after about fifteen minutes play. but failed again to kick the goal. The easterners now fought desperately to avoid the ignommy of a shut out, and with magnificent rushes. going through tackle and around ends, forced n touchdown and kicked goal. But few minutes more of play remained, the final score being II to s.
