II they play Yale, ought to get the seventh son of seventh son for quarterback, or do something else in the nature Of Witchery to break the ia boo that seems to be placed on every Dartmouth eleven that enters the Yale Bowl. If there is another case in the whole annals of foot ball that in some respects is anything like that of Dart mouth against Yale the writer has never heard of it. 1t is the one game in which Dartmouth elevens never seem able to measure up to their true standard, and apparently there is no reason for it. NAVY went down before Pennsylvania ~ IN q great game which demon strated a gradual development in the former that may, when it hits Army, find the Army in the precarious position of having to meet team that on record is nowhere near so strong, but which actually is just about as strong. That makes the most difficult psyche logical situation that a foot ball coach has to handle. And it would be as correspondingly favorable for Navy as it would be unfavorable for Army. NOTHING has so demonstrated that ~ the one thing Princeton needed to revivify its foot ball situation was good and fearless coaching as the game Princeton played with Michigan. The Tigers lost by one touchdown against two, but Michigan has a great eleven this year and game such as Princeton played Saturday would do credit to the gridiron forces of any of the big East ern universities. Princeton not only is on the upgrade, but it has just about arrived. In all probability it should enter the Yale game an even bet, which 10 to /, is more than any Princeton alumnuS expected. Tennessee had narrow squeak against Duke, and only field goal in the last two or three minutes saved it by 16 to 13. That Duke eleven has been coming strong this year, and apparently it is good enough to stand pretty close to even in any game it plays with another Southern school. a game with Mississippi and barely pulled through. V. P l., which has its best team in many years, gave Wash ington and Lee a decisive beating. NORTH CAROLINA maintained its ~ traditions of the last few seasons by again whipping North Carolina State College. This is the first of the Tarheels big games in which they have been victorious. North Carolina has a real hurdle to take, though, when it faces Duke, and one can hardly think of a greater calamity for the Chapel Hill school than to have Duke win, unless it might be loss to Virginia on Thanksgiving day.
