S.-tR)-Purdue repulsed desperate last-period assaults on their goal line Saturday, one inside the two yard stripe, to start their western conference football campaign with a 7 to 0 victory over Minnesota. First Period Purdue advanced to the Gophers 7-yard line, chiefly on Purvis’ a. yard end run, a s2-yard pass to Hecker from Pl,rvis, and Horstnanns two runs that Melted 20 yards.
