WIDE AMAKEs. YALE WON FROM DARTMOUTH. Made the Biggest Score This Season Alperts Fine Game-Hillhouse Boys Defeated by Norwich-Boardma Takes a Game-Other Games. The Yale eleven Saturday rolled up it’s biggest score of the season against the Dartmouth team and the result of the game, 42 to in favor of Murphy’s s men, was especially pleasing to Yale men from the fact that only a week be- fore Dartmouth held IT. of P. down to sixteen points. The great difference in these scores against Dartmouth by Yale and U. of F. is undoubtedly ac- counted for by the fact that Saturday Dartmouth was weakened by the ab- sence of Captain Mccormack, McAn- drews, Buell. and Cavanangh. By these absences Dartmouth was so crippled that Yale’s backs went through her right end for almost any desired gain. On the other hand, Dartmouth could not budge the Yale line, and any att tenlpts at gains around Yale’s end was warded off with ease. At no time in the game did Dartmouth get within inter- esting distance of Yale’s goal the nearest approach to that point being the thirty-five yard line. The sum of all the gains made by Dartmouth dur ing the entire game would hardly ag- gregate thirty-five yards. Within four minutes after the first half began Ben- jamin made a touchdown. Before the half closed Yale had scored twenty points, touchdowns having been made by Benjamin, (two), Van Every and Hinkey. In the second half Yale put in a new lot of backs, and despite this fact scored twenty-two points in the half A feature of the game was the mag nificent work of Albert ’97 at rushing. At every rush he gained ground and in this respect did the best work of the Yale team. Louis Hinkey missed two goals. in the first half and after that Chauncey was given the task, doing good work. In the second half Durs- tan played in Captain Murphy’s posi- tion and Bass explained the Yale team. Hillhouse Lost to Norwich. The Hillshouse High school football team was defeated in a hotly contested game Saturday by the Norwich Free Academy eleven in Norwich Nor wich touched down in the first half and failed to kick goal. Neither eleven scored in the second half and the score remained 4 to in favor of Norwich. Early in the second half Wolf, one of Hillhouse’s best men, was injured and obliged to retire. Manville took his place. Boardnians Win From Ansonia. The Boardman Training school eleven defeated the Ansonia High school team in a good game at Yale Field Saturday
