BOOTH LEADS Ellis TO 21-TO-0 VICTORY Heads Each Telling Drive. Makes a Touchdown and Kicks Field Goal. M 18.-Albie Booth, mighty / little man of Yale, fitted through a rugged Brown eleven today with all the fire and improbability of a sports hero of fiction, retired to the side lines, and then came back with the roarS of 10000 worshippers in his ears to stave of the desperate bid of the enemy and turn foot ball game into a rout. The little fellow was all Yale had for an offense, but he was all Yale needed. Starting his first game for Old Eli, withdrawn from the climax” role that has been his part in the Yale plan Of attack since he first dazzled the OPP position last Fall, Able led every sustanned attack, scored one touchdown, put the ball in position for another, and neatly drop-kicked 25-yard field goal for his part In the 21–0 victory. More than that, after leaving the game near the end of the first half, with Yale leading by an apparently safe margin Of IL to 0, Albie saw him self called back at the start OF the ing offensive that threatened to demoralize his mates. In q situation that would delight the heart of any opportunist, Albie trotted back into the breach, whipped up his team, and neat “ left soon afterward with the old alma mater nine more points to the good and his praises ringing again through the bowl. Booth Fails Only Once. For one thing, Albie proved today that he can 60 the route, match his fieetneSs and uncanny broken-feld run ming with strong fresh opponents and treat them as harshly as he does when thrust upon a tired foe. The only time he failed was when called upon to break Browns husky forward wall down on the goal line, and then 1t seemed as though lack of weight alone held him back. Able fumbled the opening kick, but recovered and led O spectacular charge of 81 yards TO within 3 yards Of the Brown goal. He slipped inside and outside the burly Brown tackles, picking UP and 8 yards at thrust, aided now and then by his massive fullback, Joe Crowley, until he made first down on Browns 10-yard line. He threw himself four times at the center Of massed defense and wound up checked for downs yards from the last marker. Brown had to kick from behind the goal and Chase, subbing for the ailing captain, Link Fogarty, hoisted only to his own 33-yard line. Booth wanted score, so he fell back and hoisted q drop-kick at the goal posts IS yards away. The ball went vide by inches. Able turned on the heat. He took on another Of Chase’s kicks out Of a group Of Brown forwards, slipped, lodged, found the Sideline and gal loped SO yards before the last man got him on Browns 39-yard line. Crowley and Dunn helped him crash to the Toyard mark, and the fullback went over on fourth down from yard away The first of Browns two real OF running around end for 20 and IS yards on a deceptive double-pass play, broke UP early in the second quarter and gave Able another opportunity. Flygare, Eli end, shared an enemy lateral at midfield and ran to Browns 36-yard line Able passed to Null field, Crowley’s sub, on Browns 23-yard line, and plunged TO the 16-yard mark, but he had TO wait to score until after Brown held for downs and Chase kicked to him at midfleld. Albie went all the way to the 2l-yard line with the aid Of a penalty for roughing, sliced IL through tackle to Browns and went over in two more plays. More Yale Scoring. Booth went out then and did not come back until the start of the fourth quarter, when CURL, Fogarty and Ritelli were bathing the Eli defense that had Sandy Weiner, once Bill Tilden’s tennis protege, at quarter. Brown bat tered to Yale’s 4-yard line, but the Ellis held Brown hammered back to the 11-yard mark and Yale beloved for Booth. Albie trotted back out there for the first play of the final quarter. Rotelli fumbled for Brown, and Yale took the ball on her own 15-yard line Then with Albie slicing, twisting, jabbling at holes no one else seemed to find, the Ellis ploughed straight down the field. Booth reached the Brown 12-yard mark, faded back to the IS, and drop ped over a perfect field goal. A few plays later Ed Rotan, 225-pound substitute guard, Snaked a lateral out of the air and ran IS yards for Yale’s final score. Booth called it a day then and left two undistinguished squads to wrestle it out to a finish Lineup and Summary.
