Except for the second period, when the inspiring leadership of Clair Sloan led the Nebraskans to two touchdownS, the Kansans and Corn Huskers battled on even terms Sloan’s entrance into The GENE pulled the Corn Huskers togather after Kansas had scored early IN the game by blocking Steve Hokufs punt back OF the goal line after Capt. Stewart Lyman’s well-placed punt and Nebraska penalty, had backed the Huskers to their 2-yard line. Jim Bausch fell on the ball for the score, but Hokuf blocked Pages attempted place kick.
