INDIANA BATTLES OHIO STATE TO TIE Hoosiers Make Only Scoring Threats, but Unable to Cross Line. BY the Associated Press. ~ HIO STADIUM, COLUMBUS, Ohio, october 26.-Indiana and Ohio State played to q ~ scoreless tie here today. but the game was moral victory” for the Hoosiers who were the only ones to make any scoring threats during the entire contest. With victories over Wittenberg. Iowa. and Michigan at their back, Ohio State went into the game rated to win by a two-touchdown margin, but the Hoosiers rose from the dust in which Colgate. Chicago, Ohio University and Notre Dame had crushed them and outplayed the Buckeyes from start to finish. Ohio showed a “let down” from the hard pace OF the Iowa and Michigan games Only Wesley Fesler, States sensational right end, seemed as good as ever. Indiana had its best scoring opportunity in the first few plays of the game. Starting at their 24-yard line Faunce broke through and raced to Ohio’s 81 yard line. He made first down in three tries and Hughes tried a placement kick. 1t was wide and Ohio punted OUT OF danger. Another placement try later in the game failed by the same reason and Indiana’s opportunities were ove-. Many Fumbles Mar Game. The game was loaded with punting and many fumbles by both sides. Most of the action was in midf1eld. Ohio pushed the ball into Indianas territory twice but never passed the 33-yard line with the ball in their own possession. The Hoosiers were outpunted, but made up the differences by knocking down or recovering of Ohios II passes and by grabbing five Of the seven Buckeye fumbles. Indiana’s mass shift from four Line tandem fooled Ohio at times and gained by sheer power on other occasions. Ross, Todd, Faunce and Balay gained fire. quently through the Buckeye line and were constantly a scoring menace. Indiana made 1877 yards gain, OF which 173 came from rushing. Ohio had total of los yards, of which 80 we’re gained through the air.
