DARTMOUTH BEATS CORNELL, g TO 0 Marsters and Wolff Prove Entirely Too Much for ithaca Eleven. Associated FTCSS sports WRITER. ITHACA, New York. November IT. The green ghost of Dartmouth, bare legged, nimble-footed AL Marsters, toss ed aside his bandagss today, hitched up pair of trousers that skidded conhearty cooperation of another wrath ‘Shep” Wolff, soundly trounced Cor nells staggering eleven for the first time on Schoelkopf field, % to o. For almost three quarters, this youth full convaleScent, who played but four minutes in three of Dartmouth’s most important games, bawildered the bic Red team just as he did last year at Hanover. But this tins he had the as sistance of the hale and hearty Wolff, now taking Marsters place as a sophomore sensation, and nine other Indians embittered by early season defeat. Not content with merely whipping Cornell’s rugged. but aimless array. plastered it on, % to 0. Only once in the entire afternoon did Cornell. al most devoid of competent backs, threaten to stay the tide, when that lonesome surge died for want of downs on Dartmouths five-yard line in the very first quarter, the Cornell fire went out and despite the reckless play of a big. fine line there was nothing left TO do but submit to the wizardry of Marsters, Wolff and company. Before Marsters left the game in the third period, hobbling again from an old knee injury, and Wolff called 1t a day in the fourth quarter they did everything in the foot ball book to the 1928 edition of Gil Dobie’s big Red menace. They had a clever confederate in Heinie Swarthout, a smashing end; Longenecker. a substitute quarterback, while Armstrong. Cole, Andres and Booma did everything that could be asked of a line
