NEBRASkA’S POWER OvERCOMES KANSAS BY the Associated Press. LAWRENCE, Kans., November B. For one-half of their Big Six clash here today the sturdy Kansas foot ball team held the Nebraska Behemoths scoreless. After the half the Kansans, badly bruised and battered by the rightfully named “Bonecrushing” crew, crumbled before the vicious drives OF Blue” Howell and his mates. and at the final gun were hopelessly beaten, 20 to 0. When the teams went to the dressing room at the half, Kansas home coming crowd of 10000 was jubilant. Those mighty huskers had been held. But the spark that was to fire the Ne hraskans, undefeated thus far, and headed for national title, was released during that rest period by the crisp words Of Coach Ernest Bearg, and after Howell ran Is yards for the first touch down, the result was never in doubt, Kansas was outclasSed. The third period began with Mebraska drive that was halted once before Blue” Howell made his 15vard run around right end and leaped the last Kansas tackler for a touchdown. Howells tumble short time later, with the goal line yards away, lost the Huskers another chance for score. Deep in its own territory in the fourth period. Kansas es5ayed a pass which Sloan intercepted and carried virtually unmolested 35 yards to cross the goal line Howell retired for Mcbride late in the fourth period, and in emulation of the mighty gridster he had relieved, Mcbride featured drive to the goal and then plunged over from the / yard line to score. The reserves, with which Coach Bearg was reported as planning to start the game, were rushed in and a virtually new Ne barska team finished the game.
