TRIPLE TIE IN PACIFIC COAST CONFERENCE SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. IL Three teams were tied today in the wild scramble for Pacific Coast conference football honors-Stanford, University Of Southern Cali fornia and Idaho, and pressing close behind them still ioomed the Wash iIgton IIuskies, the troublesome dark horse of the conference. Defeated only by Stanford, the Huskies demonstrated their drive and power Saturday by vanquishing California, 6 to 0, after four quartrrs of heart breaking football for the Bear fans. While the Husky and Bear were busily mauling one another, the Stanford Cardinals, for the second time this season, were seeing little or no humor at all in the football antics of non-conference opponent. Four thousand rain soaked fans gathered in the Stanford stadium watched the Santa Clara Broncos, ltndaunted by the Cardinals reputation of strength and ferociousness, prove again that Coach Pop War ner’ S big red team was not unbeatable. Swarming over the Cards, skirting the vauntcd Stanford ends, and piercing the mighty Stanford line almost at will, the Broncos left the field boasting Of 13 to 6 win over the possible conference winners. Bears May Surprise Next Saturday Stanford will meet California, and it is not unlikely, although the present odds are in ia vOr of the Cards, that the Bears may spring “A surprise and possibly elimInate Stanford from the conference race. University of Southern California, tied with Stanford and Idaho in conference rating, must defeat Wash ington State college next Saturday and on December 3 turn back Il Washington Husky invasion to ret3in an unblcmished record. Idaho must win or tie Oregon Ag ricultural college to keep pace with the leaders. Idaho occupies unique position among the conference teams. Admittcdly Il weak team in comparison with L. 5. c., and Stanford, the Van dals have yet to lose game, and although they may at the end of the season he entitled to conference houors the conccnsus Of opinion will favor either the Trojams, the Cards or Washington as the leading squad on the coast.
