The ability of the Commodore line to hold on two critical occasions turned the Mississippians back when they had worked the ball down to within 3 yards of the goal. + A 25-yard forward pass by Wander. -bilt, Sapders to Walter, and a play through the line with Reese carrying the ball brought the lone touchdown. Sanders drop-kicked for the extra point.
