DURHAM, n. c., October 10.-With several backtield combinations work ing in perfect harmony. the University Of North Carolina defeated Duke University this afternoon, 41–0. Boomer, Sparrow, Ferrell and Young were the outstanding lights in the Carolina backfield. Sparrow’s toe work was outstanding. Twice he boot ed field goals via perfect drop-kicks, one of which was sent forward from the 40-yard line. In the first half minute of play I’m derwood recovered a Duke tumble and ran for touchdown. This play seemed to demoralize Dukes defense
